Features (5 Stars)

I have touched on a number of the features above, but Password Safe is packed. The Options menu provides a number of useful tools for configuration. Apart from the standard Fonts and layout options, there is a dynamic password creator. This is extremely useful if you need to create a large numbers of strong passwords for a website or application.

Simply create a new account and then click Generate and a random password will be created based on the criteria you specify above. The only problem I had with this feature was with a number of web apps and a SQL database. Seems random means random and Password Safe has a habit of grabbing reserved characters that some applications do not like. Just something to be aware of. A default password can also be specified to allow ease of use for users when filling in receptive forms. Password Safe simply populates the database with a default name of your choosing so that account creation is simple.

If you can double click an executable you can install Password Safe. There really isn't much more to it than that. I have had zero problems installing the product and I have installed it on Windows XP SP2 and Vista RTM flawlessly.

Conclusion

Password Safe has quickly become one of my favourite utilities. It reminds me when I thin back 15 years ago and we really didn't have access to the Internet the way we do todayHow did I do without? You will think the same thing once you have given the product a whirl.

You won't be sorry using Password Safe. Overall I give it a 4.5/5, and only then because I never give perfect scores.
